Overview

The Project

I contributed to the design and structure of two core modules: Automations and Campaigns — enabling non-technical business owners to execute effective marketing strategies without prior experience.

What Kiiwis Does

A mobile-first customer engagement platform that simplifies marketing for local businesses through an intuitive dashboard with pre-built templates, automated triggers, and feed-style promotional cards.

  • Pre-built templates — no copywriting needed
  • Trigger-based automations run on their own
  • Feed-style promotions inside the customer PWA
  • Designed for business owners with zero CRM experience

🎯 My Contribution

Worked across product strategy, UX decisions, messaging architecture, and template design to shape both modules from concept to working interface.

  • Translated Salesforce Journey Builder concepts into simplified flows
  • Designed messaging structure for rewards and promotions
  • Contributed to owner dashboard UX decisions
  • Supported customer-facing promotional card design
  • Built the automation and campaign template system

The Challenge

Why This Matters

Traditional marketing tools are too complex for small local businesses. Kiiwis needed to bridge that gap without sacrificing results.

The Problem

Local businesses are left behind by complex tools

  • Most owners have no marketing knowledge or CRM experience
  • Platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud are too complex and expensive
  • Without automation, customer engagement is inconsistent and manual
  • Promotions are either skipped entirely or sent as generic messages
The Solution

Kiiwis simplifies marketing into two intuitive systems

  • Step-by-step builders guide owners without assuming prior knowledge
  • Pre-built templates eliminate the blank-page problem
  • Trigger-based automations run in the background automatically
  • Mobile-first design matches where customers actually are
  • AI-assisted copy tools reduce writing effort to one tap

Core Modules

Automations & Campaigns

Two complementary systems that together give local businesses a complete marketing engine — one that runs automatically, one that puts them in control.

Automations

Trigger-based marketing that runs automatically based on customer behavior — no manual work required.

Examples
Welcome reward when a customer joins
Re-engagement messages for inactive users
Expiration reminders before a reward expires
Birthday and milestone triggered offers
Design Principles
AI-assisted message generation (3 options per automation)
Tone and language controls (warm, direct, friendly)
Live customer card preview before launch
Impact
✓ Eliminates manual marketing work ✓ Consistent communication ✓ Improves retention
📣

Campaigns

Simple, one-time promotions sent to customers — structured as a 5-step guided builder.

Examples
Special offers and limited-time deals
Seasonal promotions (holidays, local events)
New product or menu item highlights
Slow-hour fill campaigns with time-specific offers
Design Principles
Feed-style promotional cards — not traditional ads
5-step builder: Goal → Audience → Message → Schedule → Review
Live customer card preview at every stage
Impact
✓ Keeps businesses top-of-mind ✓ Drives repeat visits ✓ Easy to launch

These are the actual HTML templates that make up the Automations and Campaigns modules — part of the system I helped define and structure.

Automations Module

The Automation Builder lets business owners choose a customer moment, attach a reward, and generate AI-assisted messages — all in a single panel with a live preview of what customers will see.

Customer PWA

The mobile experience customers actually see — a feed of reward cards, campaigns, and promotions generated by the admin console. Designed to feel like a modern app, not a loyalty punch card.

My Role

What I Contributed

A cross-functional contribution spanning product thinking, marketing strategy, UX decisions, and hands-on template design.

🎨

UX Decisions — Owner Dashboard

Contributed to admin experience decisions: step flow, builder layout, live preview panels, and the checklist-based launch system.

📱

Customer-Facing PWA Design

Supported the design of promotional cards visible inside the customer mobile PWA — feed-style, modern, not ad-like.

📐

Built the template and pre-fill system for automations and campaigns so owners have a strong starting point every time.

🧠

Product Thinking

Helped shape how the platform balances simplicity for owners with the structured marketing logic that makes campaigns effective.
